Do you love reading blogs, but hate clicking through a bunch of links, only to find that nobody has updated since the last time you checked? Would you like to know at a glance whether there is some juicy tidbit of new gossip for you to devour? Would you like to enjoy that old high school friend's blog without his blog tracker giving you up as a daily reader? Then Google Reader is for you!!
Did that sound like an infomercial? Cuz that's what I was going for. I just want to profess my love for the invention that has saved my index finger so much clicking, and my anxious heart so much ticking. Google Reader allows you to "subscribe" to as many blogs as you like. Then, it tells you which ones have been updated! As soon as you read it, it removes the blog from your list of new posts. Now, checking fifty blogs is as easy as checking your email. Just go to google.com, click on the "more" link at the top of the screen, and go down to the Reader link. You can start subscribing your little heart out for free.
Your amount of free time will increase, you will always be in the know, and I'm pretty sure you'll lose weight too. (Okay, so if this were a real infomercial, I'd have to throw that in! =) ) If you don't like it, Google has a 30-day money-back guarantee. That's right, you'll get your whole $0 back, plus interest!
The only drawback is it doesn't let you subscribe to private blogs, so you'll still have to check those manually.

You can also do a 'blog roll' on your blog... a new element you can add. It can tell you who has updated and when as well as the subject of their latest post. That is what I use. Still no 'fix' for private blogs (like mine) though! (Darn it!)
Ever since you told me about google reader when you were here this summer I have been using it. I love it! Saves me tons of time (especially due to the fact we have dial up). Thank you! Lashelle
Ha! Very clever.
I love Google Reader! It rocks.
Google Reader is awesome. It makes me feel so much more loved, since it shows the posts as "new emails". :) I keep my public blogs in Google Reader, then I have a little folder up at the top of my Firefox browser where I keep the private blogs. Then, I can just click, click down that list any old random time. Works great!
